Barley

Barley is useful in rotations and Lazer treats it this way as it is a consistently good crop in the immediate area. Malting barley (as opposed to feed) can bring a premium and it is often the goal, though many factors outside of the farmer’s control affect this final outcome.   

Barley is a major cereal grain, and was one of the first cereal grains and today is cultivated widely Barley has also been used as animal fodder and a source of fermentable material for beer and certain distilled beverages and as a component of various health foods. It is used in soups and stews, and in bread of various cultures. Barley grains are commonly made into malt in a traditional and ancient method of preparation.
